Konjac sponges are a great and simple way to clean the skin without drying it, limiting damages on your face as well as on our environment! We are happy to have Konjac sponges available for every skin type!
How it works
Our Konjac sponges are made from Konjac, a plant root growing in Southeast Asia that have been used for a long time in Asian skincare due to its many benefits. The fibers contained in the Konjac Sponge possess the property of absorbing water very easily which creates a porous texture that is extremely soft and gentle on the skin. It smoothly cleanse the skin, clearing the face of impurities, blackheads and excess of sebum. Its irregular texture provides a gentle daily exfoliation which helps to fight acne by treating clogged pores and eliminating dead cells, keeping your skin silky and smooth!
Why is the Konjac sponge better than your current cleanser?
Cleansers are one of skin’s greatest ally! No matter what other amazing beauty products you might apply to your skin, you always need a clean canvas. With that being said, they might be a little more hurtful for your face than you would think. Are you familiar with the sensation of a tight and irrated skin after your cleaning routine? This usually happens when your cleanser is either too aggressive for your skin, or, when your face is dehydrated after it has been rinsed, as water dries the skin. This might sound counter-intuitive, but water is not always hydrating! When it evaporates, water removes your natural sebum barrier meant to preserve your skin’s natural hydration level. The Konjac sponge, absorbing just the right amount of water it needs to be used, doesn’t dry out the skin. It doesn’t distribute too much water on the face and there is no need for any additional drying soap. With all of those things out of the way, your skin will stay fresh, hydrated and bouncy.
Kind to the environment
The cosmetic industry is one of the biggest, fastest growing businesses. Skincare, being an aspect of people’s life where they always need to purchase and repurchase products, becomes, as a consequence, one of the most polluting industry in the world. Plastic is an economical and secured way to package products, such as beauty and skincare item, and this is why 40% of our total plastic usage is due to packaging. With a low percentage of 30% of plastic being correctly recycled, and a higher percentage of it ending up in the ocean, plastic is responsible for the death of 100 000 marine mammals as well as more than a million seabird per year. There are obviously multiple ways for us to reduce our use of plastic, such as using solid product in our beauty routine. Being 100% biodegradable and durable for as many as 100 uses, the Konjac sponge is a great way to be a little bit kinder to the ocean.
